Avatar’s Central Florida Division Posts 554 First Quarter Sales

The Central Florida Division of Avatar Properties Inc. has set a blistering pace for new home sales in 2005, posting a record 554 first quarter sales for $144.5 million.

Averaging a robust 184 sales per month and 6.2 sales per day, Avatar’s Central Florida Division saw first quarter sales increase by 17 percent and sales volume soar 47 percent over a comparable period last year when the division posted a record 1,921 annual sales for $418.3 million.

At Poinciana, the second best selling master-planned community in the United States last year, Avatar’s primary housing accounted for 192 sales for $42.1 million, an average of $219,573 per transaction. SoliVita, the company’s award-winning active adult community in the Polk County portion of Poinciana, produced a staggering 327 sales for $82.1 million, an average of $250,933 per transaction.

Bellalago, Avatar’s upscale gated community alongside Lake Tohopekaliga and the 2004 Excel Award winner as the Best Master-Planned Community in Florida, posted 35 sales for $20.3 million, an average of $580,371 per sale. In just 28 months on the market, Bellalago has accounted for 724 sales, an average of nearly 26 per month.

Avatar currently is building single-family homes at several locations in and adjacent to Poinciana, the 47,000-acre master-planned community in northwest Osceola and northeast Polk counties. Avatar’s primary homes in Poinciana are currently priced from the $180s to $250s, while homes in SoliVita are presently priced from the mid-$100s to $400s. Homes at Bellalago are currently priced from the $260s to $500s.
